A while back, I was going through some difficult times at the Ohio State University with substance abuse. After getting out of rehab, I was having trouble finding trigger-free ways to entertain myself. When Chuckie found out, he went out of his way to include me on some of his adventures as my accountability buddy. This one time, I remember getting a random text message on a Thursday night, “Hey, Bennett! Dana and I have an extra ticket to see Phoenix tonight at the LC Pavilion. Are you in?” No matter how inconvenienced, they continually invited me out, helped show me the beauty in life, checked in on my life regularly, and always had a story to make me smile and grow. Chuckie was an incredible and kind soul, and his compassionate heart will be incredibly missed.
